Back in feb/march 2012 2 good friend and I spent 12 days in Iceland. never had I pressed the shutter on a camera so frequently. The scenery was nothing short of amazing,no wonder that it forms the back drop of many a science fiction movie as being on another planet .Eystrahorn, south east Iceland this mountain was on the south east corner of Iceland being one of the most isolated part of the island.3 hours later we witnessed the stunning aurora borealis for over an hour, see youtube video here…

N Lights Square resizedjust a few miles west down the road you come to Jokulsarlon an area where a glacier nearly meets the sea .Famous for it’s iceberg strewn beach and shortest river in Iceland we walked to the easterly edge of the glacier where it met the mountain side and discovered an ice cave as pictured below over 100meters long .

Just on the way back from the Glacier the sun was beginning to set and just looking back I noticed the reflections of the sun lit mountains in pools of melt water in the shadows .I couldn’t wait to get back to see what it looked like on the screen I just new it would look right !
